More Information

So i build my first gaming machine. And i wanted to go all out. But having issues in specific area. Here's the hardware i put in it.
ZALMAN Z-MACHINE GT1000 Case
Intel E8400 CPU (Couldn't find a E8500 in stock)
ASUS Striker II Formula LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad (Black) EPS12V 750W Power Supply
ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120 120mm 2-ball UFO Bearing / Transparent CPU Cooler
2x BFG Tech BFGE88512GTOCE GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0
Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500)
3x Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD7500AAKS 750GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb
Vista 32bit Home Premium

Now Don't get me wrong this thing is fast. But for one the memory wont go past 800mhz and it should hit 1066. I tried upping the speed in the bios and ever upped the voltage to 2.2 like many in the newegg forums said to. But it wont boot. So i am stuck with 800 till i figure this out. I'm not good with the bios at all. I should mention i was having serious crashing untill i reinstalled vista for a 2nd time after one week of many many crashes. It's been 2 days and system is seemingly very stable. 3DMARK score for my system is 14162. Things plays crisis at max res. just fine. I've noticed vista doesnt like old software or old games at all. Apon my reinstall i've decided to play nice and not bother with some games and programs as of yet. Winamp seems to have a direct negative affect on windows media player if they are both active at the same time. I also tried upping the CPU multiplier, just one notch i should mention. And nothing. It's boots but the clock is still at 3ghz. I don't have much faith in the Asus software, i might be wrong. But the overclocking software seems cheap. Regardless i don't want a major overclock. I want maybe 10 percent CPU increasse and my memory i want at it's rated speed of 1066mhz. Not to much to ask for considering what i paid. Any help would be appreciated.

Your description is pretty vauge: I upped this & that & it didn't work. It's crap...

Please do yourself a favor. Do a bit of homework before you go further. You can damage the parts if you go over specs.

Look up the specs of the cpu & ram
Check your bios settings against the specs & make changes accordingly
