More Information

I own the same card and experienced the same problem. I had to set the fan speed up to 60% with RivaTuner, reboot, and then alter the clocks to get it to work right.

Also check and see if the power cables are plugged in securely.

My System:

AMD Phenom X4 9850 BE at 2.8GHz
MSI K9A2 Platinum
HIS Radeon HD 3850 Turbo 512MB (775MHz Core, 1050MHz Memory, never goes above 60 C with 60% Fan)
2GB Super Talent DDR2 800 (CL 4-4-3-8)
OCZ GameXtream 600 Watt PSU
Windows XP SP2
