More Information

Hello,

i want to OC a system to achieve system clock 400MHz, FSB1600, but keeping DDR2-800 (dual channel config), and CPU no more than 3.2GHz.
I'm thinking on an Asus P5Q Pro motherboard and 1:1 ratio for system stability.

What Intel CPU to choose to achieve the desired configuration: E8200 (8x multiplier) or E8400 (9x multiplier stock but unlocking cpu ratio on bios and downgrading it to 8x to get 3.2GHz) ?

Thanks for the advise.

why won't you go over 3.2 ghz... if you get a e8600 which is supposed to be like 30 bucks more... you get a 10 multiplier... and with a fsb of 400... you have 4 ghz....

but if your dead set on 3.2 ghz the e8200 will work for you

E8200 if 3.2Ghz is your CPU.no point wasting extra money on multiplier when you dont need it.
