Hi folks,

I just registered, because I couldnt find the question/answer I'm looking for in the last half hour of searching so... Maybe I didnt try hard enough or it really isnt there :).

I want to overclock my ATI HD4870 and I want to use the Ati Auto Tune. I just wanted to know, as the name of the topic says, is "Apply overclocking at Windows start-up" safe?. I'm asking this, because I would like to know if it could damage my video card, while it overclocks the card every time the computer starts. Or is it completely safe?

And is using Ati Auto Tune ok? And is it still better to make the overclocks permanent in the BIOS?

I already upped the fan speed on my card from 22% (stock) to 30% which, with an extra side fan, schaked of almost 30 degrees of the temp. From 80 to 54.

Thanks in advance,

Greetings,

Tinsley.

Well, it's also dangerous if you don't know what you're doing and corrupt the bios. :na:

Unlike for cpu, software oc works just fine for gpu. So why go through the trouble? :p
