Malware and adware

can get gmail, blogger pages and sites affiliated with google but nothing else. No facebook, ebay, myspace, hotmail...basic stuff. Nothing else either. I use Firefox as a browser. I checked my preferences in both Firefox and Google. I was told by google help to make sure I can accept cookies. Done. Nothing changed. I was instructed by Firefox help to clear my private data. Done. Still nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have tried uninstalling & installing Firefox Again? If not do that and Then try again..

Have you tried with any other web browsers? IE, Opera or Chrome??

Boot into safe mode with networking. Download, install, and update malwarebytes. Do a full system scan.

Download and run combofix.

For Internet Explorer:
Go to Tools->Internet Options->Connections->Lan Settings

Make sure that the use proxy server is not selected if you are on a direct connection or selected with the correct proxy IP and Port if u are using a proxy server
