More Information

So I was looking around here to see if anyone else had my problem, but I couldn't find any answers.
My computer was running fine until one night my computer suffered from sporadic power failures. But the next day my computer was running fine. Moving along to yesterday my computer will not turn on. At first I hoped for just a problem with my front panel. So I used the power on button located on my mother board, no luck nothing. My computer after updates has had no internet connection, so little chance of a virus. So I'm going to disconnect a few things and see if that helps.

Specs if you need the information:
Mobo is Foxconn Mars p35
Power supply is Antec true power 1000w
graphics card is an Evga 8800Gt
Sound card is a creative X-fi
Seagate hard drive Sata
Floppy drive, yes the ribbon is connected correctly
Philips combo drive
Q6600 quad core
Kingston ram
5 case fans, two are intake.
So what do you think may be the problem?

Possible theories & 1 suggestion

S1) That PSU is overkill, you know that right?

1) The PSU may be faulty, it could've been damaged during use or during shipping. Try swapping it out.

2) Altogether your PC might hit 500-600W under full load, so I don't think the PSU is the problem.

3) What are the voltage readings in the bios? If they are off then it usually is a good indication of a damaged PSU.

3b) Sometimes the sensors read wrong, so a voltage meter can help

Sorry it took so long to reply.

Now if I remember correctly the voltages where all not on the money exactly but had slightly off by about a tenth or a hundredth off. I'll look for a voltage meter soon.
