Hi.Sorry- this should probably be in the notebook section, but that doesn't seem to get much action and I think this is a pretty generic problem.
I have an HP NC4000 notebook, running Windows XP Pro.Until today, it had two memory slots, each with a 256MB stick of DDR266 in them, making a total of 512MB.This would show up as 480MB in Windows, with 32MB shared with the graphics.
I just swapped out one of the 256MB sticks for a 512MB stick of DDR333.The BIOS recognises all 768MB of RAM, as does CPU-Z.BUT Windows now recognises only 256MB of RAM.This is especially odd, since even if it is only showing the original 256MB stick, it should surely show up as 224MB, with the other 32MB shared with the graphics.
Can anyone help me fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.
