For DX 10, I need Vista and a DX 10 video card. Is a special motherboard also required?

You will only need vista, but I would recommend a pretty beefy system if you plan on runnin games in DX10. It currently does not provide very good performance results.

Well said. Games will always (well, currently always) run slower in DX10 then DX9. Any nVidia 8xxx/9xxx series cards ore any ATi 2xxx/3xxx series is DX10 compatible.

Gosh, i love ATI

I'm upgrading my system and wondereed if I needed a new motherboard. I've got an E6600 running in an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe board with 2 gog of DDR2-800 and an Nvidia 7900GTX OC. I've already got Vista Home Premiium in a dual boot sestup with XP Pro.

Thanks!

Just upgrade the video card and your system will be DX10 ready.

I say ready because games are still to come.

Some claim to be DX10, but they are more DX9 with a few DX10 features.

AFAIK, no game has been developed completely with DX10.
