Yes... good article, pretty much general knowledge.

I did find it funny they made the low end machine AMD/ATI and the High end rig Intel/Nvidia **Also the 'high' end rig isnt all that high end.

Where's this thing about VRAM, I don't see it in that article, I've seen some of their tests in their other articles in the past, like the one I posted below.

As for the system RAM it's suppostions and not tests. I agree with it mostly for many games based on experience of other actual tests like these;

http://www.winmatrix.com/forums/in [...] opic=12408

but overall, things are getting more memory hoggish, especially Crysis before the patch, not less, and the 64bit excuse is lame if you can buy 4GB for 10-20% more money than 2GB. Mine was only 5% different. System memroy is cheap, but when it comes to VRAM it depends alot on what settings you play at and the power of the card to use the VRAM available.

Anywhoo, I think THIS is the article you were refering to, that other one is fluff;

There are very valid reasons for getting 4 gig of ram. I do more than just gaming, running some intense business programs that can use all the ram I can stuff into the box. I hate it when my computer slows to a crawl becuase I ran out of ram and am using the hard drive's virtual ram. As for gaming, as the article points out, things change in the computer world, and what was valid in January may not be valid in June, so the article itself can be invalidated in a few months, as the author points out.

Ram requirement is function of specific needs. I run design simulators on my pc that consumes whatever memory & CPU resources available on the PC. My simulation jobs run between 4 hours to 2 weeks (100% CPU & 100% Memory)

4G is small relative to the 35G that i used at work.

Its all relative to your specific application.

Memory is cheap compare to our time...

No worries man, the VRAM article is good to share, glad you brought it up I just thought they may have updated.
You obviously had seen it or were thinking it, just mis-cut/paste. :whistle:
