More Information

After a lot of tweaks and advice from friends, I have chosen a list of parts that amount to $996.00 shipped from newegg.com. The only thing I am worried about is if I have enough power and amps to the rails from my power supply. The ram is also questionable since I will be OCing my processor to at least 3.0 ghz. I also am wondering if the heatsink and video card will fit in the case that I have chose. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide me with positive feedback.

That looks like a pretty solid build.

The only suggestion you may get is about using the E8400, the new Intel dual-core proc. It will most likely net you better performance in games over that Q6600, but the Q6600 has other advantages that come to mind. (Better multi-tasking for one)

for OCing on the P35-DS3L. Nice Build :D. You might want to consider some Corsair XMS2 ($34 @ newegg after MIR) if you don't plan on OCing the RAM very much. If you do plan on OCing the RAM get some Crucial Ballastix.

Well it seems lots of new games are going to provide quad core support and I am trying to futureproof this for about a good 4 years. It seems my build is pretty good for the price so i will have no worries on ordering this sunday. Thank you.

I know alot of people love Arctic Silver5, but I got an Artic Cooling Pro 64 cooler for my 4800+ Amd And after 6 months of use I get 28-30*C idle and 40-43*c HEAVY load with the stock paste. I think the intel version is the Arctic Cooler 7. If you're like me and want to save as much cash as you can you might try that. Also a friend of mine just purchased this http://www.newegg.com/product/prod [...] 6817139004 . It's 550watts and seems like a good deal with the rebate. It also has just one 12v rail with 41A on it. I wish this has been out when I put my pc together for this price. I prefer single rails versus mult-12v rails

ARCTIC COOLING MX-2 Thermal Compound

I'm pretty sure Arctic Cooling coolers come with Arctic Cooling MX-2 pre-applied. So there isn't a reason to rebuy the same paste. Just thought I'd lay that out for everyone. :p

I think he was going with a Thermaltake CL-P0114 120mm CPU Cooler thats why I recommended the compound.
