Hi There,

I know this is a very long-shot but I have a fully functional HP 95LX with
one minor problem. The floppy disk containing the HP connectivity pack has
become corrupted with age. Therefore I was wondering is their anyone out
there with a HP 95LX that could supply me with a copy of the connectivitiy
software?

Cheers

Richard

Cheers Martin,

It turns out the disk was not corrupt, but that the software isn't
compatable with Windows XP. The software on the disk unpacks and installs
okay on Windows 98 but when you try and run the install program in a DOS
shell in XP you get an error message stating that one of the packed files is
corrupt.

The HP website also states that none of HP LX range are supported under XP.

The software I have is the HP Connectivity Pack v1.1 which I suspect is the
same software used by the rest of HP LX family. Since I have an old toshiba
laptop runnning Windows 98 I can use that to transfer data to and from the
the HP. Failing that I guess I will have to join the 21st Century and get a
PDA/Pocket PC that works with XP ;-)

As it turns out their are a quite a few programmes available for HP LX range
on the internet and a wealth of other info at ....

http://www.palmtop.net/

Cheers

Richard

Hi Richard,

I'm not 100% sure but i think that any comm. program will do with the
protocol X-Modem. Try with Hyper-Terminal ( i will try it one of
these days... )

Have a nice day!

I confirm!!!! I've just tried it and HyperTerminal can transfer
files at 19,200 bauds with the HP 95LX using both the X-Modem and
Kermit Protocols. My task now is to find a better solution ( as
always... )

Well, there is a program called zip (predating pkzip) which supossedly
does file-transfer super-quick:

Probably. I have not tested Connectivity Pack with XP. I use Compact
flash cards to transfer files between the laptop/network.

I know that there are people using Connectivity Pack under XP.

Check the archives of the Hplx-Maillist. (Please join it too)

Yeah and you will give up the HPLX? No I do not think so :-)

Get a CF/Pcmcia adapter and cheap cf card and you are seT. Actually I
do not need to transfer that much from the desktop/laptop to the HPLX
since the HPLX is my main machine. All other machines are "nice to
have" but the HPLX is essential.

Yes alot of programs there.

I use DAsoft's programs alot. I use them on a 32mb DS with SC. Works
very well. I have a Ipaq too, but only for navigation in the car and
some other "nice things"
