Ok, I am currently at 422x9 which puts me at 3.8ghz...

at 1:1, this puts my memory at 844...

Memory is Crucial Ballistix ddr2 800 4-4-4-12....(and I am not to happy with them)

To get to be stable, I lowered timings to 5-5-5-15 and had to move voltage to 2.2

Any other OC, even to 425x9, my memory craps out....

Am I missing something?

I had to RMA my old crucial memory cause 1 stick failed, and they sent me these new sticks... and yes they run at spec, but damn I could OC the old ones near ddr2 1000 at 5-5-5-15 or keep it under ddr2 900 at 4-4-4-12

yes its nothing to do with the memory with those timing and voltage.because you will need to increase NB and FSB and MCH voltage as soon as you get near 400FSB and you are talking over 400FSB so you need to +1 or 2 notches for it to work.

What are your voltages?

I'm at 3.85 with 1.38v vcore and 1.31v NB with a E8400 on a Rampage Formula. I'm not stable at anything lower than that and I won't go higher than that so my chip is pretty much maxed out. Not all E8400's can get to 4.2 or whatever.

I did forget that info.

CPU vid is 1.225. I am stable at 1.275 at 422x9

I followed iluv's suggestion, up the nb,mch etc.... I got to boot at 4.0ghz with a 3.25vcore and moving my nb,mch and vtt up 2 notches...

heat seemed fine, but then again i dont trust any of the 4 programs I am running since they are all abit different.
