Hi im new in this forum but i have been visiting here for some time.

Lately I was planing to build a new "spider" system (in the next months) due to their low cost/performance/compatibility (in the future or this is what they advertise in their web site at least) but i dont know if i can trust in AMD now. i wonder why AMD made such a mistake by selling those faulty phenoms. I have been hearing a bug that decreased CPU performance and not only this, that bug (i dont know if it is the same bug) even prevents the pc from running at all (or gives blue screen under certain conditions).

But why AMD made such a big mistake? Why did they, themselves, released the public that these processors have a certain bug(s) and still put them in sale? That doesnt make sense at all, especially when those CPUs are going to be the main parts of the platform that they have been advertising. Also, AMD is experiencing financially hard times by now (what i heard), especially after buying ATI. How can they sabotage their own sales? Or is this some part of a strategy? If this is not part of a certain strategy (against intel?) what is going to be? AMD has already disappointed their buyers so early that those "spider" sales will suffer from this, i think, resulting in less mother boards sold, too. They cant get much profit from graphic card sales, either, because nVidia hits hard from that side. What do you think AMD will do next? They'll surprise us with a brand new design of bug-free phenom that is faster than a quad intel?

That is all speculation as to what they will do next. I doubt that they will all of a sudden release a new quad that is faster that any of the quad Intel's. I would be glad if they could make a decent quad core that would be bug free and Overclocker friendly. I don't want AMD to go under because then Intel wouldn't have any opposition to keep down prices. I personally wouldn't buy a Phenom right now though. If I ''had'' to go with a quad right now I would get the Intel Q6600 G0. As for all the Phenom bugs, I don't know a whole lot about that but there are a bunch of other threads in here that talk about it.

P.S and yes I believe you are only the 1,000,000'th person to ask this.....
