Will a PC&P Silencer 610 fit properly into a P182 case and the cable be able to route behind the MB tray for a Gigabyte DS3?

Also will it fit my TT Big Typhoon cooler?

Just wondering. People with a P182 give your your opinions please.

MAN, HOPE YOU FIND SOMEONE WITH THAT SAME EXACT SAME EXACT solution. Its a good case. Buy a soldering iron, wire, heatshrink, and all the modders tools and do what everyone else does. Figure it out.

Thermaltake Big Typhoon. Hmm, send it back. Get a real CPU cooler, something besides TT.

Lol, I've had it since it came out and I got a deal for it. It cools my CPU very well. I have my E6400 @ 3.4 and the temp in TAT only moves a couple of degrees when I'm gaming. That seems pretty real to me. Thanks

I installed a Silencer 610 in two 182s. You need to remove the lower fan to get it in, it's easy. I also got a $5 120mm fan screen to go between the fan and the PSU. It is a little tight but OK. The ATX12V is too short to go behind a P35-DQ6 mobo so you either have to get an extension or plug it in direct. Other cables reach. Nice combo in my opinion. An ATX12V extender is cheap if you are picky, I'm not.

Well I have a p182 but I can't really tell you if a 610W PCP&C power supply or the TT will fit. I got a Corsair 620HX PS with a Tuniq Tower cooling a e6750 in my rig and everything fits fine. Probably you can use that as a reference. But definitely a lot of room in this case, and it keeps everything cool and quite.

Thanks for the input everyone. I'll pick up an extension cable tomorrow when I get the case. You probably saved me a trip back to the local Fry's.

You just happen to have someone on this forum who's used a Gigabyte P35C-DS3R board in an Antec P182 with a PCP&C Silencer 610.

The Silencer's a tight fit with the bottom fan, but it'll work. And the cables are long enough to reach.

The PC P&C silencer610 is longer with no modular cables, so it will come close to the lower fan . Fortunately, the lower fan is not needed to cool the hard drives because the psu fan does the job well. Just remove the fan. As to cable routing, I can't help.
---good luck---

I want to point out for some power supply have front grill which will pull cold air that will cool the hd.
But for corsair hx520W, the fan is locate on the bottom of power supply, it will not help HD cooling at all, because the lower chamber design of P180, I do not think fan actually cool the psu since there almost no space left between fan and bottom of case.
My raptor 10k HD went up to mid 50 degrees without fan, drop to high 30 by put back the fan.
So be wise when shopping psu for p180/182 series.

For a good review of the P182, read this: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article741-page6.html

Their testing did not indicate a need for a fan in the lower chamber. You also have the option to mount your HDD's in the upper chamber.
Also, the silencer610 uses a rear 80mm fan. But, it is quite efficient, and the fan will only operate when it needs to.

Awesome! I figured someone would have that setup! Thanks everyone.

Similar question with P182. When building, is it best to install psu, hsf and Dimm's first, with the board removed? Then, could I pre run what ever wires I have to behind the mobo, tying them off to side of case, so that when I mount mobo to standoffs, wires will be already routed and ready to go?? Pardon the interruption!

I like to mount the cpu cooler with the motherboard out of the case so I can look at the back of the mobo and be certain that all 4 pins are solidly mounted.

I would avoid running psu cables behind the mobo. Because:
The 24 pin cable is too thick to fit.
You lose flexibility to easily change cabling later.
It's good for looks, but really not that important. Just be somewhat neat.
