Yea, do a bit of research, expand you own knowledge perhaps. And come to the forums with a list for ciriqueing, and some knowledge to have a conversation about the build. I wouldn't come here expecting members to just make you a list.

I would have to say that someone that comes to these forums isn't necessarily knowledeable on computer parts, they may only know computers as a whole from like Best Buy or Circuit City or Dell or HP so it really may be hard for them to get a starting point but yes I agree some effort should be put in so we can critique accordingly.

I know, but someone can at the very least do SOME research on the basic parts.

Edit: Personally, I'm not here to hold someone's hand, I will gladly help anyone who help themselves.

You must not know how to build a PC.

I would suggest reading the last week's worth of postings before posting ya questions...I have read at least two threads today from peopel building gaming rigs with your exact $1500 budget.

I want nothing more than to see AMD come back out of the funk they've been in for the last 2 years and kick the dcrap out of intel, but now isn't that time. Take it from an AMD fan if you build now...as much as it pains me to say...go Intel

As you can tell these guys aren't happy with your lack of research and effort. Word of advice before I built mine and posted here I researched for Three weeks straight. Put some effort into it guy or just buy that build from ebay and enjoy!

Reply to medjohnson77

why buy an amd build for $1500???

"PUT 2 OF THE EGVA NVIDIA 8800GT SUPERCLOCKED 512MB VIDEOCARDS IN SLI MODE (JUST LIKE IN THIS GAMING RIG) AND IT DEMOLISHES THE PERFORMANCE OF THE NVIDIA 8800GTX 768MB VIDEOCARD FOR THE SAME PRICE AS 1 NVIDIA 8800GTX 768MB VIDEOCARD."

no really??? what about if you SLI the GTX??? what a retarded statement, esp since for that price you can almost afford to get 2xGTXs... + the mobo could be better...

E8400
8800GTS 512
and a big monitor... that's what you ought to be looking at, not that rubbish... go with mlaporta's build.

Sharkyextreme.com's value gaming guide is a good starting point. With another $500 to spend you can upgrade a quite a few things.
http://www.sharkyextreme.com/guide [...] hp/3714091

The extra money should get you an E8400, 512mb 8800GT, Better PSU (Hiper 630), higher grade memory (Crucial DDR2 1066), a bigger hard drive (500GB), and a good HSF (Tuniq Tower).

In my opinion, a with a decent mother board like the
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] A-P35-DS3L

and an Intel E2160 @ 3.2 ghz (easily attainable with air cooling), is all you need. I have built over a dozen of these systems since the holidays, and with an 8800GT they will handle any game out there. With the money you save, you can buy a bigger monitor (24" ). I like the E8400, but current prices make it less desireable until prices drop back under $200.

BASIC RESEARCH please, "you are lazy minded". All you had to do was google E8400 reviews and you would have had a huge number of hits! Its time for you to get somemore milk.

Here is what I am building

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/ [...] mshardware

my comp comes in at $1433.00

by the way on the Intel AMD stuff Intel is the way to go now. My first pc was an Intel celeron 433 Mhz, then my next three builds were all AMD 900Mhz Thunderbird, then an AMD Athalon 2700+ and then my current rig with an AMD 64 3500+, right now no AMD is no where close to Intel not in performance or price. I just got my E8400 for 189.99 at microcenter.
