Hey guys,
So I have a ton of old vinyl records that I have been converting to CDs for years using Cool Edit 2000 and a click/pop eliminator add-on. This program is quite old and I have had it running on a Windows ME machine with a Celeron 700mhz processor taking hours to do its job. So I was wondering what new multi-threaded software you can suggest to both a.) record entire vinyl records and b.) filter out the clicks/pops/hiss. I am not willing to spend thousands of dollars on professional software but depending on how good it is I may pay a few hundred.

I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks!

No need for 100 bucks n all, save them for your Beer!
Still with Win ME, it's of Stoneage man (Just kidding)
I donno how u missed Golden Records, a very compact, powerful uselful tool.

I used with XP OS/Athlon XP 2000+ and now
I am Using with Windows 7 , no prblem at all.

Quality is the best & you going to be an addict to this!
I used it for converting both records & Audio Cassettes,
Very Easy to use.

Have a look at this!
Golden Records Analog to CD or MP3 Converter

More sound editing tools here, some of them are free too!
