Do I need to reinstall my windows xp home, if I upgrade my core 2 duo e6600 processor to core 2 quad q6600?Anyone done that? I have P5B deluxe (bios updated) and the software I'm going to use is cubase 4.

No you don't. XP automatically sees quad core.
