Can't access hard drive

Can anyone help me? We just moved and the movers managed to break our computer. We finally got it up and running enough to hopefully download all info. and transfer to new computer. I have 2 hard drives on the broken computer. The 'c' drive is completely accessible. The 'f' drive shows up under computer management and is listed as healthy & active. When I try to open it, I get an error that the disk is not formatted, do I want to format? Any ideas on how to access the drive without re-formatting so that I can retrieve the info?
