I am doing a fresh install of Vista Ultimate 64x. My hard drive shows 2 partitions. One is 239 gigs and the other is 8 gigs (250gig is the hd). I was able to format the 239, but it wont let me format the 8.

Any idea as to why??

You sure that's 8GB and not 8MB? Because that would be the highest-capacity 250GB hard drive I've ever heard of. Usually they're around 237GB, it won't let you format about 8MB of the drive. Don't know why, but it's not a big deal...after all, it's 8MB.
