can I oc my memory or should I leave it on auto I have cpu oc 3.0 but thought I might get more performance out of
my system if I oc my memory if, I should what wold be the best way? Corsair Dual Channel TWINX 4 1gig 6400
just a mild oc not maxed out.

You have 4x1GB...you would have better luck getting it to OC if it was 2x2GB.

To overclock the RAM, you bump up the FSB. But you need to keep your processor OC stable, so while you figure out how far your memory will go, lower the multiplier on the processor to its lowest value (usually 6X ?).

Be sure to test your RAM OC with memtest to make sure it is stable.

Do you even know what speed your RAM is running at? Download CPU-Z and look at the memory tab. It will tell you the base clock. double it and that will be the effective memory speed. You can increase the base clock to 400 if auto is set for 333, but I wouldn't go any further. This technically would not be a RAM OC because that is what it is rated for. Also, look at the SPD tab and compare those timings against the ones in the memory tab. You will probably find that the timings are not as tight as the ones in the SPD tab for what ever base frequency you are running, so you can tighten them up a little. The real world performance gain will not be drastic, but you might as well do it anyway.
