More Information

Hi guys,
I am building a new computer, and it's been a few years, I wanted to get some expert opinions. I will be installing Windows XP Pro (32-bit). Also would this current build be stable if it was manually oc'd to atleast 3.6GHz. I would greatly appreciate any comments on compatability, performance, and also need help with some undecided parts listed below.

CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor E8400
CPU Cooler: OCZ Vanquisher CPU Cooler - OCZTVANQ
Motherboard: GA-P35-DS3L (rev. 2.0)
Graphics: EVGA 512-P3-N802-AR GeForce 8800GT Superclocked 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
RAM: Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
Power: OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI ATX12V 700W Power
Case: Undecided (was thinking Antec 900 or Ultra Grid)
DVD-RW: Undecided.

Thanks!

It look fine.

I would spend a few more bucks and get the 8800gts 512mb (rebate makes them $269-279).

I would also go with two seperate hard drives (2x250gb, 2 x320gb or even 2x500gb if you need the space), placing XP and apps on the HD #1 and games on HD #2. Give XP/apps around 30gb +/- on HD #1, and games the first 80gb on HD #2. Two seperate drives will always perform better than a single drive.

Also, that PSU is overkill for a non-SLi system and there are better alternatives:

$80 -
