Currently I have: (2X) 512MB PC2700 DDR RAM 333mhz AMD AthlonXP 2400+
I need to get a new computer for the wife, so I am most likely going to spend around $500 bux for her at Walmart or something. This means no new gaming rig for me . I have had my falcon-nw since 2003, and the only thing that I have upgraded is the Graphics Card. So, needless to say, I need to upgrade my system big time.
I am wondering how fast a processor I can plug into the current mobo, and what RAM is compatible?
I think you would be hard pressed to find an old socket a for that, unless you know of a computer store with some old parts, i have the same mobo in my old system and have an xp3000, and 2 gigs of 2700, i used ocz in it, i had kingston, any trusted brand should work
in fact i still use that system when i lan at a friends house for battlefield 2 which it runs quite well on a bfg 7800
so if you can find the parts you should be good, just dont try to play anything new like crysis...or it will explode
Xp 3200+ Barton and 3G of DDR 400 (PC 3200) or DDR 500 (PC 4000). I'm using Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR 500 (PC 4000). Its running at 3-3-3-8 at 2.6v.
