It is an Acer Notebook with Windows Vista home basic and Sata Hard drive. It has the NYB Virus in the Boot sector and will not boot. I have tried several antivirus methods including Norton, but none has worked. I need a boot disk that will clean the virus from the boot sector. Tommy

Boot from the original Windows Vista install CD, enter the recovery console and run "fdisk /MBR"; if you don't have one, try to borrow one; if you can't borrow one, contact Acer Tech Support and ask for a recovery CD.

Thanks. The owner does not have a Vista install CD. I will get one next week when I am at the computer store. I will also tell them to contact Acer and get the recovery CD. The COA is on the bottom of the notebook. Thanks again, Tommy
