I have a Compaq 8530p (Core2Duo 2.53, 3gb ram) notebook with Intel's X25-M 80GB hard disk.
&
an old desktop (Pentium 4 2.80, 1gb ram) with a 250gb Seagate hard disk.
both run Windows XP Professional, but the old desktop boots MUCH faster...
When desktop starts, the Windows XP booting screen (yes the black one with the xp logo and the bar underneath) lasts for like 4-5 seconds.
On the laptop it lasts over 15 seconds...
I understand that a notebook is always a notebook, but it's a much better system,, and it runs on SSD!!!
I made some SSD tweaks on the notebook.. no dramatic change.
