with the computer on, unplug the modem power, wait 15 seconds and plug the modem back in. after the modem lights start blinking, restart the computer. Also try unplugging the router power, wait 15 seconds and plug the router back in, restart the computer.
When all else fails, push the reset button on the router and hold in for ten seconds. This clears the passwords, usually. Then restart the computer.
