Hi everyone i need advice in what to buy for midrange gaming system i dont know if that is what its called . I only buy from newegg and i do a lot of gaming here is my current system :

3600+ X2 1.9 Ghz
7600 Gt 256 Mb GDDR3
AMPX 1 Gb 512 x 2Mb DDR2 800
Sound Blaster Live 5.1
Pc Chips A11G Nvidia Mobo
Ata 133 Hitachi 160 Gb
Ata 100 Maxtor 250 GB
19 inch 1440x900 monitor

I dont know if i should upgrade it or just start over with a new intel system. I want to learn how to overclock as well if possible.

If i could build a new system i guess i can recycle the memory and the sound card . I would want at least 2 new Hard Drives one of them bein 320 Gb, i would need a new power supply ,a video card , a cpu , a new mobo and a DVD burner aswell. Thanks for your wisdom

Ditch the PC CHIPS board. Go for Biostar 550/560/770(best; AM2 & AM2+ support out of the box). Drop a 5000+ BE in & overclock it to 3ghz on stock volt. No heat increase.

If your budget is $700:

Recycle the memory only.

Go for:

AMD Athlon X2 5000+ black edition

AMD 770 chipset motherboard

ATI Radeon HD 3850 512 mb

Cooler Master Centurion 534 case or similar

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 pro CPU cooler

Thermaltake Purepower 500w PSU or OCZ GameXstream PSU

you can pick hdds and your optical drives.

Let me know what you think. If you do go for it, I would be happy to answer any questions you have about overclocking.

You need at least 2GB of RAM and not just 1GB. The 8800GTS 512mb will run cooler thanks to the great cooling system and can overclock to around 800MHz.

be sure that the new memory matches you old. you have to be careful that votages, and CAS latency match up, If not you could have some problems.

this gives you a good mid to high-end machine. And when people say get Arctic Siler 5 don't. The thermal compound that comes preapplied to the Artic Cooling Freezer 7 is just as good . I have the Amd equivilant(AC frezer 64) and my idle temps are 28*c and at full load I get 37*c(highest I've seen)with everything at stock.

Go with jalpaugh1978's build.

The TT Purecrap is pure crap. If you want TT, get at least a ToughPower, but you don't have the money. Get something else. Corsair or Earthwatts is better.

Ok so you are going to use the DDR2 800 that you still have, great that saves you money. :)

When you speak overclocking atm, the only choice and obvious choice is intel, you can hit a 100% overclock on the low end allendales...The core 2 duo line is simply phenomenal, the oc potential is off the charts.

The x2's are great budget based processors, but their OC'ing ability/performance just can't match up to the c2d/c2q line.

Intel is the better value. I sometimes could kick myself for not doing the research when I started buying the parts for my rig 6 months ago. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with my build. Plays everything I throw at it.
