Hey guys,

I'm seeking some help in regard to a new graphics card purchase. I will be playing games like Crysis, Oblivion, Gothic 3.
Should I buy the

- EVGA GeForce 8800GTX 768MB GDDR3, PCI-Express, 2xDVI-I, with CRYSIS (about $100 more than the GTS),

or the

- Gainward GeForce 8800GTS 512MB GDDR3, PCI-Express 2.0, 2xDVI/HDCP, 256bit ?

Which would be the best choice, performance wise? Would the two cards, when playing for instance Oblivion, produce vastly different images?

Thanks for any replies :)

8800GTS 512MB since it performs almost as well as the 8800GTX and costs a lot cheaper. 8800GTX is old tech.

Agreed. Technically the GTX will probably still give you slightly better results, but it's not really worth it for that price difference. The GTS will run cooler and (probably) quieter, too.

The GTS will beat the GTX at Crysis at pretty much every resolution due to the Shader being clocked much higher.

I've got a GTS 512 and am playing Crysis at a custom set up between High & Very High between 25 & 40 FPS at 1280 X1024.
