Laptops get hot, but can they cause a plane to catch on fire? The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is holding hearings on whether laptop batteries caused a UPS cargo plane to catch on fire last February. The DC-8 plane with three crew members made an emergency landing at Philadelphia International Airport after a fire broke out in the cargo hold. The fire continued to burn for four hours destroying the plane and most of the UPS packages inside. Read more

Sorry for the daft title but I'm hoping to build a new system that will eventually be used with a 24" monitor for general useage as well as watch the odd HD film and and game. Hoping to use the following and just wondering if anyone can give it the once over as I'm hoping to build it in an Antec Fusion case so air flow may be an issue.

I can't quite see the link for that, it didn't paste right. If it makes you feel any better, I got a LG Blu-ray / HD-DVD player for under $300 and it came with software and everything. Works 100% on my system. |

Just noticed one possible problem with this build, they have the one of the PCI slots directly beneath the PCI-E x16 slot so using a dual slot card I'll have to choose between a PCI Wifi adapter or a sound card while having an empty PCI-E X1 slot. Any one know of a decent 775 motherboard (ie reliable and have half decent over clocking potential, not going to be pushing to the limits but if i got for the E2160 I'd like to get it to 3ghz) that has the PCI-e X1 slot directly beneath the PCI-e X16, so I can sacrifice that instead.

This has 2 accessible PCI slots but I don't know too much about the stability or OCability of this board. It is an MSI, it should be good.

Unfortunately the case is mATX and that board is full-ATX, thanks for confirmingthat the E8400 does run cooler though, think I'll probally still chance the E2160 though just to good value to pass up if it does run hot though I'll be able to switch to 45nm with out being to far out of pocket. |

I noticed that right after I posted it so I reposted with an mATX board. The underlined link is to your uk site as well.

Sorry to keep being negative but that has the same problem with the PCI slot placement as the GA-G33m-DS2R. I have a feeling though that this is a trade off that I'll just have to make if I want to have an mATX setup with a dual slot card.
