OCing X2 5200+ w/ a ga M57SLI-S4 Mobo

I'm new to all of this, but

In the BIOS, I overclocked my fsb from 200mhz to 300mhz, and then put the CPU multiplier on 10x. I thought i was ok, but when i clicked on 'save & exit', a prompt window came up saying that i should reset to my default BIOS values. I hit F1 to load Windows anyway. In CPU_Z it rated my cpu @ 2 Ghz. What am I doing wrong?

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ @ 2600 MHz
Mobo: Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 w/ nForce 570 SLI chipset
RAM: Mushkin PC2-6400 DDR2/800
OS: Vista 64bit

oh, i have a Thermaltake MaxOrb Enthusiast CPU Cooling Fan
if that helps at all

reboot and get in BIOS, i think your box take the 10x multiplier but did not take 300 FSB
