Then expect information from Toms after its release.
That confirms the Inquirer isn't offbase on saying that the 9800gx2 was delayed until the end of March. They also say the 9600gt has been recalled from some OEM's they'd spoken to.
The biggest flub with Nvidia is that the 9800gx2 is a dual PCB. It's nice to hear that the 9800gtx everyone kept hoping for is an officially announced card.
While I'll love my 3870x2 (once the Antec Neo 650 arrives Tuesday or Wednesday, it will get installed), and while I can't wait to see the 4870x2 (can you say CrossfireX?), the 9800gtx is a good addition to the desktop GPU market. It will probably do well once Nvidia gets their triple SLI worked out, driver wise.
According to VR-Zone, the card will be clocked at 600MHz for core, 1.5GHz for shaders and 1GHz for memory – thus, performance is estimated to be just slightly higher than two GeForce 8800GT in SLI configuration. In addition, the card will offer a total of 256 stream processors, along with a total of 1GB of GDDR3 RAM. While originally poised to launch later this month, the new dual-GPU card is now reportedly set to launch on March 11.
