SLI is not supported on this board (p35 chipset).

The RAM you picked is very good. If you're sure you want 8GB why not just buy it all from the start and make your life easier. Anyway, your problem. To actually use the 8 GB and not just 3.25GB or so of it you will need a 64-bit Windows XP or a 64-bit Windows Vista. That means you are taking some risks - older applications might not work.

You can't run SLI on the aBit IP35Pro. It's one of the best mobos out there, but it won't do SLI. If you're serious about SLI I suggest eVGA 780i. It works with the E8400.

I own the new p5n-d from asus and have had no problems at all, currently running an e8400 out of the box, and a 8800gt superclocked. I used the chip for about a week at stock settings and cranked it up to 4ghz.  It was simple!  Only thing holding back my OC is my memory.  800mhz G.skill 4x1gb running at 890mhz
