i just now reinstalled xp home, was foolin with mobo settings. I did something wrong im afraid. I set the memory speed to +1000 from auto. That might be it. Now I get no video on either of two monitors., and my computer shuts off about one minute after I start it. I don't know whats wrong here. Anybody have an idea on how to reverse any error I may have done?

Clear the CMOS with the jumper near the battery on most boards...

More detail

-First, Turn off the power switch(or unplug the psu)...
-Hit the power button on the case to drain any power left in the caps on the board and in the psu
-Move the clear jumper from 1-2[thats where it is now] over to 2-3 for about 30 seconds.
-Move it back to 1-2
-Plug the system in or turn on the psu switch.
-Cross your fingers and hit the power switch.

Agreed. Easier way is to remove the CMOS battery for ~10sec.
