Cant overclock q6600 on MSI P7N Platinum

G0 Stepping Q6600 on MSI P7N motherboard. I have read thru all the guides, when I raise the fsb from 1066 (stock) to 1333 and save, the system never boots back up. If I move the fsb to any number, it fails to boot back up.

system is as follows

Q6600 G0 Stepping
OCZ Vendetta 2 Triple Heatpipe CPU Heatsink
MSI P7N Platinum
OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800
OCZ GameXStream 600W ATX12V 24PIN SLI Ready Active PFC ATX Power Supply
Antec 900 case

I know Tom's Hardware ran this motherboard/cpu and overclocked it in the $2000 computer article, but I cant find any of their bios settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am only really interested in getting the cpu to 3.0ghz

  1. When you push up the FSB make sure to adjust the RAM ratio as not to push your RAM way out of spec. May also need to bump up Vcore.
  2. How much volts are you adding to try and get 1333fsb? I have the same board and cpu and have found no difficulties in getting 3.4Ghz. If your still finding if impossible by adding on a little bit to the voltage, just give me a shout.
