I just picked up some Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF, it works great, but I figure I might as well get 8gigs total.
my question is about the rebate. I don't expect to see my rebate for a very long time as they like to sit on rebates and nitpick them to death. The mention one rebate per household. am I safe because its technicaly a different rebate (they also like to run different rebates avery week to make printing up the correct form a pain) or are they just going to use the 2 rebates, 1 house excuse?
My other thought is get the Patriot version of the memory. 2 fans wouldn't fit, and I'm sot using the fan anyway.
the only difference I see is Corsair is rated for 2.1 volts and Patriot is rated for 2.3v.
The Patriot is cheaper too.
I figure the Corsair wont mind a little extra voltage, maybe the patriot wont mind a slight undervoltage.
do you guys see any fault with my logic. I've never mixed and matched memory, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
