I have a gigabyte ga-p35-ds4 and am installing a c2q q6600. The cpu loading plate is slightly bent upwards so that when I push down on the lever, it requires a little more force to lock down.
This is my first build...is that normal?

Is it that the plate's not fully down after you lock it in place or is it just you need to push down a little harder in order to make it lock. If it just needs a little more force to lock then it's fine, don't want the CPU moving around and stuff. Can't remember exactly what way my cpu plate was when I installed my one but once it holds it firmly in place it's ok
I found a pic online and what I was describing appears to be normal.
Out of curiosity, is processor damage a black/white type of thing meaning your processor will either work like it's supposed to, or it won't work at all? I dropped mine (at least the little black cover was still on) from about 1 foot high, and am worried that might have done something.
Would it be possible to damage a processor in such a way that you just get slower performance out of it? Or if you damage it at all will it completely not work?
