i bought a biostar NF4ST-A9 MB very cheap so i can test install all my parts from the previous problem i had (which was either a blown MB or bad cpu) and i did not realize the agp slot says XGP so before i even try to put in an agp card will it even work on this board or should i just wait for my pci card and try it on that? there is also a yellow sticker on the XGP slot that says i should not use a 3.3v agp card in that slot. i am not an expert or too well versed in installing a MB so my appologies if this seems like a newbie question.
i can do everything quite well until it comes to the small grn, power, usb connections at bottom of the board.
any response is appreciated even if its a (your a newbie) thought on connectiong a MB. heh
Biostar recommends that you have the video card driver installed on the hardrive before you install the card. They have a partial listing of cards that work, but I would just try yours and see what happens. As long as it is rated for 1.5 volts, you may be fine.
I did an xgp1 slot motherboard from biostar as a cheap tide me over because I had a MB go bad on me and did not want to buy a new board, cpu, memory, and video card.
I had an FX5500 that worked fine in that slot, as did an FX5200.
