My old PC uses Intel Pentium D D820 (2.8GHz) processor on a Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2 Motherboard. The CPU is over 60c even at idle. It gets nearly 70c at load. So I got a Gigabyte 3D Rocket cooler which helped to reduce the heat by 5c. I have used thermal paste as advised in Toms forums. The heat sink get very hot that its hard to touch even. I tried removing side panels of my casing but it didn't help either. Any advices, suggestions welcome...
thanks.

Pentium D's, especially the 8xx series, are known to be very hot. Mine (820 too) idles at 48 and goes around 65 at 100%. Its not necessary a reason to be concerned. Your temps are a little high but your CPU may work just fine.
