Hi all,
I have a ASUS M3A mobo and want to get an 8800 series gcard(still deciding which version) or maybe even the 9600GT. I want to get a cooler master extreme power duo 600w PSU. Will there be any compatability issues or any limitations with the PSU , mobo and gcard?
Some reviews arent specific whether the PSU will support the top of the line 8800 cards. Also the psu doesnt have a 8-pin ATX12v connector? any reason to be worried?

I am not familiar with the exact unit you listed, but Coolermaster does not make the best quality PSU's. If you want something solid, try and pick a unit from Tier's 1 & 2 on this list. Coolermaster name does not show up until tier 4.

Also, the two 12v rails a 16A each produce less 12v amps than other 600w units out there. Like this 600w I use on one my Quad core systems has 18A x 4 on the 12V. Therev are a lot better PSU's than the Coolermaster you have listed. For example, That unit would fail under the stress of SLI or Crossfire for sure. HTH.

BTW, the Stealthstream I listed is the same as it's Gamestream brother without the modular cabling, just has a lesser price tag for the same specs.

Specs list 2 12V rails at 18A each. I have no intention of going multi-GPU right now, single card will suffice.
Will it be able to handle a 8800 gtx?

The Coolermaster Real Power Pro series are not bad, but not price competitive with other brands. The rest of Coolermaster PSUs pretty much suck as stated above. They do make a nice case though.

A good choice that will not break the bank would be the Corsair 550vx, for non modular cabling, and the HX520 for modular. The Enermax Liberty is another good modular choice.
