What is the cheapest powersupply between 550w and 600w while still maintaining a good reputation? I am building a budget build and with shipping i went a hundred over what i projected so trying to get lower.
well why dont u tell us what your syetem spec are b/c i am sure youa re overdoing it and in fact can probably use a much higher efficeincy 380 watt PSU instead that would cost you maybe $60....
Okay, My specs are as follows
q6600
Asus P5k-E MOBO
MSI 9600GT
4gb DDR2 Corsair XMS2 Ram
Antec P182 Case
Liteon BluRay Drive
Samsung 20X DVD RW
Cooler Master TX2
WD 750GB HDD SATA
holy crap i wish my "budget builds" were like this i don't think 380W is gonna do it here lol. that corsair is gonna be right around the best price for quality.
Ha ha, well sorry i meant more in the area of mid range, but to some this is a budget build ha ha. Would go cheaper but upgrading after four years of owning a dell. Worst four years of my life ha ha
The antec 430w Earthwatts would be the absolute lowest I'd go with that setup. You won't want to OC with it, so the Corsair vx550w that was linked earlier is probably the cheapest your going to get. It has a 6 + 2 pin PCI-e connector and a regular 6 pin PCI-e adapter, so you should be fine with that PSU for some time. You'll need to jump on that PSU before it goes off of sale price, because it's usually pretty close to $100 normally.
I paid 90.00cad for an ocz stealthXstream 600 for the a Q6600 setup similar to yours, and while it may be a little bit of over kill there is always the future to think of,,eh what ???
