I've got a brand new Inspiron 530. The computer came with an 8600GT (256MB). I'd like to upgrade. Supposedly, the newer quad core based Inspiron 530's (which is what I've got) use a newer power supply with dual +12v rails to support the 8800GT.
First off, the 8600gts is junk for that price. If you want an eVGA card, get the cheapest, non-overclocked card and overclock it with rivatuner or the like. If not, get the MSI card with the aftermarket cooler on newegg right now for $199.99 after rebate, which is my choice.
I also recommend the card TurdBurglar linked to. Just got it yesterday and impressed the heck out of me. Runs VERY cool and has plenty of room for even more overclocking (if u choose to) without worrying about your card overheating. IMO this card over all the other 8800gt regardless of brand or price period.
