this is very strange to me. Firstly I have a GA P35 DS3L running an 8400 Wolfdale, 4 GB of GSKILL 2x2 1066 Ram with an antech 500 W powersupply. Upon looking at Bios, I brought the CPU from 3ghz to 3.8ghz, the cpu seemed to run stock around 1.25v so I raised it to 1.33 respectivly and things seemed to be going fine, 32c idle and 42 under load thanks to the awesome rosewill 92mm set up. After about 3 days of gaming and regular use, there was hardware settings blue screen after post. The bios was reset to default settings and I seemed puzzled because it worked just fine on stock cpu clocks. I raised the CPU back to 3.8 and upped the juice to 1.33v and got a blue screen after post. I restarted and went back into the bios and the voltage had gone back to stock settings, everything else stayed, so I went and raised it again then upon restart I checked and it reset itself, I can no longer raise the cpu voltage, I was wondering if the voltage reset was the cause for the error. I have since clocked it to 3.6 which runs decently on the orig core voltage but I cannot change the cpu voltage any more, this is the strangest thing that has ever happened to me. Any suggestions?

Nate

Try resetting the bios by using the jumpers on the mobo (see manual) or by removing the battery for about a minute. Pull out powercable while doing this

i got a bit of a weird problem too with vcore... my E4400 (now at 2.5GHz :)) has a vid of 1.3250 according to core temp. cpu z on the other hand states the current vcore at 1.264 at 100% load small fft orthos stress testing! wtf?? how is the vcore lower than the vid?? unfortunately my mobo is a VIA chipset and i am unable to manually control the cpu voltage (or even the multiplier for that matter -_-) i'm yeah fairly confused atm..

oh yeah and adding to blackwidows reply, also unplug any USB devices as they can actually provide power to the motherboard! bit of a horror story with that one somewhere..

i have the same problem. my ASUS M2n SLI deluxe wont let me change the voltage. i adjust the voltage in the CPU section in the BIOS and the voltage won't change at all. I also have weird voltage readings. In speedfan, the two VCores are 1.23 V and 3.17 V. The VID according to Core Temp is 1.350. Then in CPU-Z, the core voltage is reported as 1.216. All this on a stock 6000+.

but seriously, thats a massive drop for me and its overclocked to 2.6GHz! 600MHz above stock with a voltage MUCH lower than VID????
