How can it be 'accidental'?

Presumably they've set it to infinite retries when it can't get a positive response? That's bloody stupid, is what that is.

you know that infinite ping is not a new thing in a network environment.
That help troubleshoot your network.
Also did you heard about Linux???
in linux ping is infinite as well......
