My Toshiba Satellite L305 stopped recognizing my USB for head set and wireless mouse connection, but recognizes USB for other devices. This started yesterday. Please advise.

Were there any software updates yesterday (including Windows) that may have affected drivers ? In device manager you could try roll back of drivers or do a Windows system restore to date prior to problem appearing.

Thanks. No there was not a software update to my knowledge. There was an attempt for "Run LiveUpdate" with Norton defecting a problem, but the warning said that I should wait for 24 hours and check again. I did and the Norton "Run LiveUpdate" took place about 24 hours later and the "At Risk" warning which was showing on "PC Security" seemed to be resolved with a "Protected". Did that correct the problem? No. There is also a sound as though an UBS is being plugged in, when it is not.

Thanks again....still trying to work through your suggestions with my lack of knowledge.
