Just curious, I have some corsair RAM that I have been using for almost 2 years. The specs on the RAM are 2.1 volts however, I recently found that out. It appears that the motherboard has been using the default voltage all this time which is 1.8v. My computer has been working fine for 18 months then I had to get the motherboard replaced. Is using 1.8v for the RAM harming the RAM?

thanks

Undervolting RAM doesn't hurt the RAM, but if the Mfg. specifications call for 2.1v to run at the advertised specs that is recommended voltage to achieve advertised MHz speed and latencys. 1.8v is the standard voltage for PC6400 800MHz. Applying 2.1v would allow that RAM to run perhaps potentially PC8500 speeds 1066MHz. 2.1v may also allow 4 CAS as opposed to 5 CAS latency at 1.8v.
