I just got a new Asus pk5-e and it will not recognize any drives, IDE or SATA. I've tried different drives, different cables and a couple settings in bios. Someone said if I reset cmos it might work. Even if unlikely, I could at least try it. Does anyone know how to reset the CMOS? I will also be searching my manual as well. thanks.

the "motherboard won't recognize drive" thread is here in case someone knows of a setting I missed- http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/248885-30-motherboard...

Thanks for telling me. I'll go and read it now. .. I feel a little embarrassed that it's in the manual, but only a little because in putting together the new system I've just had so many troubles with it it's unbelievable. And I did look in the manual, but must have missed it because of being rushed. :pt1cable:  When I looked, I didn't spot it and figured maybe it wasn't covered. That's why I asked. I'll try going page by page when I have more time to do that. I used to think researching a new graphics card was involved, but I was kind of stretched out by shopping and researching all components etc at the same time. I've had things break or I had to send them back etc. I'm still trying to figure out why Asus suite crashes, wifi won't connect. Hopefully I can solve it now that I got the system running finally. thanks again. :sol:
