Will the hard drive from a Dell dimension 2400 work in an Emachines etower 633ids?

If by "work" you mean can you swap it and just boot the existing OS, then NO; if you mean wiping the existing OS and re-installing then probably.

The Emachines etower 633ids has an IDE (PATA) drive control, but is a very old machine and had Windows Millennium installed on it originally. The Dell 2400 had a 640MB hard drive on it. If you are using the original operating system on the Emachines you will should be able to access the full drive.
