Windows XP reinstall without a cd

Hello,I want to restore my computer back to like the day I bought it....but I have no cd. it did not come with one. I have tried the system restore but none of my dates work. so I just want to start over. Is there anyway to do this without a windows xp cd?

If your computer is an HP, Compaq, or Acer, you may have a hidden partition to restore the operating system to its original condition - that means you would want to backup your files to another computer or hard drive because that restore will reformat the partition your system and files are on; you will also have to re-install any programs YOU added since your got it.
