I think you should download and read the D-Link manual for your router. You don't actually need to use any of the software that came (on the CD ?) with the router but it can simplify setting up your connection to the internet provider.
However, your question is also slightly ambiguous -- it suggests to me that you could instead be asking how to use the D-Link utilties for a wireless adapter instead of Windows' own networking utilities.
