audio data switch???

i thinks that's what ist's called.
i have a pc in which i use speakers and headphones but not at the same time, i have to unplug then plug in every time i want to change.
is there a data switch available for audio? i've heard them mentioned a while back but can't find anything for pc use.

Go to radio shack, get yourself a y splitter, plug it into your audio output on the back, turn the speakers on when you want to use them, when you don't, turn off the speakers and put on the headphones. Control volume using the control panel or tray icon, works great!
