Well I am almost ready to order this board for my new Q9450 but I just want to get some final thoughts from people. Will it pair well with the Q9450? How far do u think I be able to @ for 24/7 use? I want to use the BEST 4G(2 x 2G) DDR2 Memory what would u suggest?

I also found this review online about how this model have bad contact and/or badly applied TIM, can anyone confirm this? When I get the board can I take the heatsink’s off and re apply the paste?

I also was considering this board (GIGABYTE GA-EP35-DS3R) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6813128086 so if someone thinks I will benefit more from this one then the ABIT one plz let me know. (I will not ne using SF/SLI) It is very important that I make the right choice here between this 2 board ! :D

I am looking for stability and good overclocking potential (this will be a gaming rig)

Your comments are greatly appreciated.

Thank you

I don't know what those people are thinking, but Abit has always made top-notch boards. I own an IP35 Pro and it has 0 problems. In fact, its feature pack and BIOS are one of the best i have ever seen.

However, as far as overclocking goes, i have not tried that. But Abit makes excellent boards.
However, i suggest you go with a 750i or 780i board right now, because in my experience Nvidia based boards were always better and SLI is a plus.

As far as RAM goes, i personally have had bad experiences with Corsair. But Patriot and Crucial are ok. But Crucial is by far the best (a bit pricier too).

-What are you on?

Abit IP35 pro is a good board, however you do know that the Q9450 runs at 1333mhz FSB? if your overclocking high i'd recommend an X38 chipset over the P35.

If you're not planning on going SLI, from what I have read, the Abit IP35 will be a better choice as far as stability and overclockiing over the 780i or 750i.

Zer0Cool, you're pretty much in the same boat I'm in. I'm looking at buying my mobo today and the Abit IP35 and the Gigabyte DS3P (or DSPR) are my two top choices at the moment. Both look like a good choice, especially for the money (The Abit board has a $30 rebate atm)

For me, I may be using SLI down the line so it's tempting to get 780i but I don't know if it's worth the extra heat or money to get one of those boards. But at least I'd have that SLI option.

I don't know how much actual help I was, but I think you'll be in good shape going with either of those two mobo's.

I have the Abit IP35 Pro board and used it since December 07. I love the board I switch from a pos MSI, which I will never purchace anything from MSI again. I have it overclocked just a little on air and have never experienced problems or much heat issues with it. I have the e6600 OC'd to 3.0, if your going to just use 1 high end Video card either ATI or Nvidia then I would recommend Abit IP35 Pro.

To not waste money I would make sure you will be able to take advantage of having 2 cards SLI'd and a monitor that gets 1920x1200 or better resolution.

My current setup is e6600 (oc'd to 3.0), abit ip35pro, 4gb 800mhz, bfg 8800gt, wd raptor 150g (10k rpm), vista 64.

The IP35 Pro is a super MB, you can do a very simple HS mod by removing and reinstalling with bolts and it is just about perfect, search for the mod, takes 5 minutes. The GB, which I have used, is annoying about reverting to stock speeds and other strange but not fatal behaviour. The Abit is a much easier and more stable OCer, in my experience.

Money is really not a problem, I also will be getting 4G of some Fast DDR2 ram. Lots of people told me that DFI LP LT P35 T2R LGA is the MOBO for me because it has 8 phase and not 4 ( no ideat what that means) I am really thinking about going with this one.
